A little bit about Strelna and the Constantine Palace:
Strelna - is one of the oldest suburbs of Saint Petersburg, is situated 19 km from the town, on the south shore of the Finnish Gulf.
In 1797, the Emperor Paul I presented the deserted palace to his son - Grand Duke Constantine Pavlovich, and "" Strelna Mysa" became a grand ducal estate. In 1990, UNESCO added this unique architectural complex to the list of monuments of world historical and cultural heritage in danger of complex decay.
Strelna today is a business center , a residence of the President of the Russian Federation and a museum, it combines several functions: organization of conferences, seminars, bilateral meetings and other business, along with its function as a residence of State authorities and as a museum.
Constantine Palace after renovation during the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg will amaze everyone. In 2003 the renovated Constantine Palace hosted more than fifty heads of the state during St. Petersburg tercentenary celebrations.
